Day 2 ; Concrete Information

We first started the morning with a brief talk from Becca from JHC about the history, agriculture of Nicaragua, and sesame seed production!!

After a delicious breakfast, we took the trucks (which we call the ambulancia) to the clinic,
where we were going to work for the morning.

When we first got to the clinic, Kathleen, who was the “director” of the clinic gave us a tour and talked to us about what they did at the clinic, what we would be working on, and
why it was all important.

This picture shows one of the many rooms at the clinic. They had a dentist, a pharmacist,
radiologist, gynecologist, a general doctor and a lab technician.

When we finished our tour, we immediately started work. We split off into groups, some of
us made the concrete, and the rest layed and smoothed it to make the floor in the third clinic building.

After we had worked for a couple hours, we went to JHC for lunch and listened
from the people who worked and lived there about who they were, what their mission
was and what they accomplished.

After lunch, we visited one of the local school in Nueva Vida and spoke with some of the 6th and 7th graders about what their lives were like.

Earlier we learned that Nicaraguans burned their trash. On our walk back from the school,
we saw face to face what that was really like.

We even had a little time for some fun and games.
After dinner, we played a very intense game of Uno,
and this picture was taken the moment Emaya won.
