Hello Everyone! Today was our first day in Managua, and it was a great experience. Here are some pictures from our first day!

We made it, ready to start our exciting trip throughout Nicaragua!

Already sweating from the sweltering heat!

We listened to lessons on key people involved in the revolution in the Plaza de la Revolución.

After a brief history lesson, we stood outside the Palacio de la Cultura and took a group pic.

In the afternoon we had the opportunity to learn about a historical site (Ben Linder House) that contained several murals of the revolution.

Gerardo Hernandez Arias, a well-known muralist, spoke about his experience growing up in the revolution, and how it influenced his art.

Our first Nicaraguan “family style” dinner together with some regional specialties including plantains, rice, local squash topped off with maracuya juice.

Message to Parents: Hi Mom and Dad! I am doing well, thanks for asking. Hope you are doing great too! <3 Also, thanks for letting me go to Nicaragua again this year, it is going to be fun! - Nathan C.
